Quote
"If I were on the Iron Throne and I had to choose a Hand, I would want Tyrion. He seems to have every angle covered. But assuming I can’t have a Westerosi character, I would choose Sigmund Freud. He could get to work on Joffrey and Cersei’s complex relationship, and I would get Joffrey an electric guitar and lessons from Metallica as he needs to channel his blistering fury into something less psychopathic."

Apparently this is how xkcd creator Randall Munroe pays his Verizon bill.
That’s one way to stick it to the man. It’s also awesome.

Louisa Musgrove, you get no sympathy from me. I give no compliments to your mother.

Wes Anderson’s upcoming Moonrise Kingdom (due out May 25) is all about kids—specifically, a 1960s-era Boy Scout who runs away with the summer fling girl of his dreams, accidentally sparking a desperate manhunt that consumes a small town. But as with so many of Anderson’s comedies, it’s alsoabout adults who behave like kids.

There’s something quite nice about being able see 40 seconds of a film and having no doubt who directed it.

Pick 5 artists that you love before reading the questions
1. Mumford and Sons
2. Fiona Apple
3. Radiohead
4. Robyn
5. Muse

What was the first song you ever heard by 1?

“The Cave” - totally blew me away

What is your favorite song of 4?

Hmm… probably “Dancing on my Own”

What kind of impact has 1 left on your life?

It was the first music that made me feel spiritually hopeful in a long time. It made me feel closer to God.

What are your favorite lyrics of 5?

All of “Take A Bow”… They’re more an instrumental band for me.

How many times have you seen 4 live?

Never! But I think it would be a really fun concert. ^_^

What is your favourite song by 2?

Ooh, that’s tough. Probably “Paper Bag.” So catchy and crunchy and awesome.

What is your favourite song by 1?

Many different ones that revolve. Either “The Cave” or “Awake My Soul” or “Roll Away Your Stone.” Probably the last one the most… so triumphant.

When did you first get into 2?

Goodness, when I was about 15 years old… “Tidal” was an amazing album, and she was so honest and clear and angsty with reason. I loved all the Lilith Fair acts, but she stuck with me throughout the years.

How did you get into 3?

I saw the video for “Paranoid Android” and thought it was one of the weirdest things I’d ever seen, and also I couldn’t tear my eyes and ears away because it was fascinating. I tucked it away in my mind for a bit until I heard Kid A in college, and then the rest of OK Computer, and then all of the discography. Mind blown.

What is your favourite song by 5?

“Sunburn” - always my fave

How many times have you seen 2 live?

Only once, opening for Coldplay. I didn’t have high expectations for it, because she’s not known as a strong performer. Her music is more emotive. I still loved singing along.

What is a good memory concerning 5?

Husband and I drove to Atlanta to go see the “Resistance” tour live. It was my favourite show I’ve seen, amazing sound and vfx. Totally worth the trip, I’d have gone back to see it the next night if I’d had the option.

Is there a song by 4 that makes you sad?

Not really—her early stuff reminds me of silly early high school memories. Her later stuff makes me want to dance.

What is your favorite song of 3?

Ooh. “Paranoid Android” probably, because of the aforementioned experience. But also “Everything In Its Right Place”…
